New Year’s Resolutions living life to the fullest.

Live life
Are you planning of setting some New Year’s resolutions? The question I have for you is this. Are you living life to the fullest? I mean, isn’t that the point to all of this.
You know, I have to tell you the truth, I started writing this post and had it all saved and then just wanted to puke! I mean it was the same drivel that can read on a thousand sites like this one. That’s not what I want for you or this site.
I couldn’t put my finger on what was wrong or what it was I really wanted to say. I knew that what I had written wasn’t saying it, but what was wrong was just our of my grasp. I had to get away from the computer and so I went down to the basement and started a fire in the woodstove down there. It makes the house nice and toasty when we burn it and it is cold a miserable outside.
As I was building the fire, I was thinking about what was wrong with what I had written. What was wrong with the whole concept of changing out lives and trying, some of us desperately, to stop being who we are and turn ourselves into someone different.
It dawned on me that the point to all this is living our life to the fullest. Those of us who want to change have a burning desire to live a life so much fuller that the one we have. We want more. It doesn’t necessarily have to do with just having more money or more love, although those things might be nice. It has to do with feeling like there is a point to all this and we are living that point every minute of every day.
I read a great quote that I would like to share with you. It is from Norman Cousins
“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.” – Norman Cousins
Isn’t that true? It isn’t death we fear so much as never living. The people I admire the most in life are those who are truly living life to the fullest.
As the year draws to a close and the new looms on the horizon, think about how you would most like to live your life. Let’s work on this together this year. Let’s make it a year of life.
