Finding focus in life

Focus your life
We all do it, even those who are considered “experts”. We all get our life out of focus or balance. We spend too much time at work or we stress out too much over our bills. It is important for each of us to remember that finding focus in life is more important than success. Without focus, success will be elusive.
Non-attachment
Many meditation gurus talk about non-attachment and how it helps us to let go a little and still maintain focus. I admit that I had a real hard time with this concept. It seemed like I was being told by these gurus that I should let go of striving toward my goals and I had the self improvement people saying I should have a burning desire and not let up until my goal was reached.
I finally understood that non-attachment does not mean that we should have no goals, no desires. What it means is that we should not hold on to how that goal will be reached or what the fulfillment of the goal looks like so hard we cannot allow things to unfold naturally. I can still want the things I want; I just need to let my death grip on it relax a little.
Have fun
Here is another thing I am learning all the time. Have fun in life. If you cannot have fun, then you are stressing out too much and you are not doing your body, mind, or spirit any good. If what you are doing for work is not fun, change it so that it is or change what you do. I know that you are thinking that it isn’t that easy, but to change your attitude can be very simple. You just decide to not get bothered by whatever it is anymore.
Don’t keep your nose to the grindstone so much that you can no longer smell the roses. What is the point in that? I was just reading last night about a man who worked for a company that he did not like working for. He worked sixty hours many weeks and hated every second of it. He lost all his friends and his girlfriend. He wound up with nothing and was in such terrible physical shape that he feared for his life. He decided to start his own business. His health improved and so did his social life.
Stop trying to do it all.
Finding focus in life does not mean that you have to do everything yourself. Join or start a master mind group to help you with your job. Join a meditation group to help you find some peace. Listen to your intuition more as you begin to listen to the Infinite Source guide you in life. These are suggestions, but you get the idea. You don’t have to do this alone!
So many times we think that it is all up to us. Well, in some ways it is, we cannot rely on someone else to live for us, but we can join others and not only benefit from that association, but help them as well.
Life is meant to be fun. If you aren’t having fun, then you need to find focus in your life.
