Change Your Life, What if You Don’t?
I write about changing your life and how to go about that. I live my life by making the changes that I need to make, or at least I try to. The question came to me, what if I don’t change my life? I will put the same question to you. Change your life, what if you don’t?
The first thing you have to ask yourself is if your life is really all that bad to begin with. I mean, if you don’t ever change anything in your life, would you be able to live the rest of it exactly as you have so far? Many people, if they are honest, could. Some can’t.
If not, why not?
If your answer is that there is no way you can continue living your life the way you have been, then why? What is it that makes your life so unbearable? Only you can answer that question. What might seen perfectly acceptable to others, might be very unacceptable to you. You have to be honest with yourself on this. I know I have some things in my life that have to change. I also know that I can live without that change, but I don’t want to.
If that is the case for you then the next thing you need to do is decide just how bad you want what you want and if you are willing to pay the price to get it. Again, only you can answer that question. What one person might see as something that can be had or not, another might be willing to give everything for.
Let’s say that you want to travel. You want to see as many places as possible. You significant other is afraid to travel. I would guess that most would say that the travel is not as important as the person. Some might work out a compromise where they are able to travel alone with the good wishes of the other. Some might say that they have given up travel for the last forty years and if their significant other cannot now compromise and go with them, they will go alone and not come back. I am not trying to persuade you one way or the other, only to get you to see that you must decide what is important to you.
We all live this life making compromises and changing the parts of our lives that we can. The question I ask here is, what if you don’t. I know that for me somethings are non-negotiable, and others are just not that important. What about you?
