Live Your Passions, But Use Your Head
I have read quite a bit lately about how you should live your passions. I believe this to be a great thing. So many people live lives of quite desperation, as Thoreau said. They live lives that are unfulfilled and drab. There is only one problem with this, as I see it from my perspective. You must use your head.
The reason I say this is because I have always been a person who pretty much lived my passions. If I felt like quitting a job, I did so. If I felt like moving to another state, I did so. Sure I gave some thought to my family and all that, but I pretty much did as I felt led.
The problem is that I didn’t always think things out before I jumped into the lions’ den. This in turn, caused some problems for those who were close to me.
Now I am not saying that you must have everything perfect, or that you must think everything to death. I am just saying that there is reason to use your head.
I also am not saying to never live your passion. I do not regret any of the things I have done or places I have lived. I only regret the things I did not do. Some of those include knowing if I had, not a job, but the ability to find work. Would the local community need my services or were there laws that would prohibit my working.
Again, I would not say to just stay home, simply think ahead. Find out as much as you can about what it is you intend to do or where you plan to go. Then do it, go there, live your passion. Just use your head.
