Giving Your Best
I have long been happy customer of Casio G-shock watches. I used to be very hard on watches when I used to fight for a living (another story). The last two I have owned died after only about two years. I am no longer a fan! However, this post isn’t about watches or Casio. It is about giving your best.
The problem, as I see it, is that many manufacturers, not just Casio, have begun to cut corners on quality to make the profit they desire. Now I am certainly not going to knock someone making a profit, but I think giving your best should be in there somewhere.
Years ago I worked in a tannery that made automotive leather. For a short time, we had the son of a German tanner work with us to see how we did things. I got to be good friends with him and one day I asked what the difference was between what they produced at his plant and ours. Without blinking an eye he said, “We wouldn’t sell this crap.”
What about you? Do you focus on giving your best? It doesn’t matter what you do, or even what we are talking about. It can be at work, in your business, or at home. Are you focused on giving your best?
If you are serious about wanting to change your life, this could be one of the most important things.
As we slide into a life that is not what we want, we often get to the point where we simply go through the motions and we do not give our best. In fact, sometimes we give just slightly about our worst.
Starting right now, begin to think about giving your best. Maybe you hate the place where you work or the business you are trying to run. You feel it has been a terrible mistake. Start giving your best anyway. Start immediately to do the best job you possibly can. It will only help you in the long run and it is great training for when you come to the place in life where you truly want to be!
