The Fear of Poverty: Do leave home without it!
The second fear I want to discuss is the fear of poverty. Now in these economic times many of us understand the fear of poverty better than we ever did before. Perhaps our job was cut or our wages decreased. Any number of things might have happened, but still the fear of poverty must be overcome!
I want to make myself clear here that when I say fear of poverty, I am not just talking about money, although that is a large part. I am also talking about mental and spiritual poverty as well.
The fear of poverty causes us to be indecisive, fearing to make a decision in case it goes south on us. It makes us doubt and worry. I causes us to be over cautious. Does any of this sound familiar to you?
Now I am not saying that we should throw caution to the wind. If you are planning to start a business using boats made of ice to sail the South Pacific, I advise caution. The Fear of poverty can not be replaced with foolishness! However, if you are thinking of bettering your life, starting in a new direction, you cannot let unreasonable fears cloud your judgment or your enthusiasm.
I am sure that many of you have been burned by some scheme or other, and you have lost good money. That does not mean that you should never venture out again. Learn from your mistakes! Understand what you did wrong the last time. Don’t make the same mistake again.
Even if you were to lose money, you really didn’t lose it, you purchased and education. Just don’t make the education too dear.
Does the fear of poverty stop you? Think about it. Are you afraid that you might lose all your money or become a mental case if your idea for a better life does not pan out? You will never make a change if you never step out. Be careful, but step into the journey.
Here’s to You!
Steve
