Patience is a Skill
This week I want to do at least a couple of posts on patience. Patience is a skill! Now I have to say that I am not a very patient person. In fact if they had the diagnosis of ADHD back when I was in grade school, I’m sure that I would have been diagnosed with it. I have a real hard time focusing. I have worked real hard to train myself to focus.
Now what this has to do with patience is this. I get interested in something and I become full on focus. The thing is, I need to see some results like right away or it is easy for me to get distracted by the next shiny object and soon I’m off somewhere else. I’ve learned that I need patience.
What about you? Do you have that problem? You want your life to be better, you want to change and you try this thing and that thing, you try everything that comes along, but never seems to help.
You have to have to have two things. One is persistence and the other is patience. You didn’t get to where you are overnight and you wont’ get to where you want to be overnight either. It takes time.
When something isn’t working out for you, just step back, take a nice deep breath and relax. As I said, you didn’t get where you are in a day and you won’t get where you want to be in a day either. Now the changes will come faster because you are focusing on them. The whole law of attraction comes into play, but it won’t be in a day.
I used to pray that God would give me some sort of switch that I could just flip and my life would instantly be different. Well, I never got that switch and you won’t either, but you can change. I know you can and deep down, you know it too. So have patience! Develop it as one of your skills and life will be better.
Here’s to You!
P.S. Here’s a blog post I ran across by Erin Suess on patience. Check it out!
