Improve Your Life
I set out some months ago to create a site where people could get

Improve Your Life
I can tell you from my own experience and that of the people I have worked with in the past that life change is not easy. I think most people fail precisely because it takes work.
The first thing you must have is a burning desire to change. Change comes from the spirit within; it comes from a place deep inside you that yearns, screams, to be set free. Without this desire, your chances for significant change are greatly diminished. You can mentally decide all you want, but without that desire, it is nothing more than a mental exercise, a wish, that has all the hope of success as most New Year’s resolutions.
Next, you must have a strong mental picture and plan of what you want and how you plan to get there. More people fail because they fail to take the time to understand just what it is they want. You may decide that you want to change, but if you haven’t determined that what you actually want is, let’s say, to become more assertive, that you are tired of being run over all the time, then you will not succeed. To simply say, “I want to change,” is not enough.
Lastly you must take physical action. Without taking action toward your goal, you will not find the change you seek. I struggle with the current fad of the law of attraction because of this. Now don’t misunderstand, I believe in the law of attraction, I believe that you attract into your life what you believe and think about, but I do not believe that things will show up without any action simply because you wish it.
Some will say that all you have to do is put your desire out into the cosmos and then sit back and wait. Bull! If you do that what you will get is a fat butt from sitting and a lot of disappointment. You must act on what you want.
Now I know that all I have said so far is a lot of generalities, but they are true nonetheless. Each person is different and it will take differing amounts of effort to improve their lives. However, if you want to improve your life, then I will do what I can to help you. I know what it is to hate your life to the point that you no longer want to live it. I want to help you improve your life so that each day is an adventure and nor a bad dream.

Alex, I understand about not having the “buring desire” thing. For years that’s how I was too. For me, what it really meant is that I never took the time to really think about what “I” wanted as opposed to what others said I should do or be. Had I spent the time to really think about what I wanted and understand that it was alright to be me, I think I would have been much farther along in the game.
Thanks for the comment!
Steve
I totally agree Steve that change comes from within, from Spirit.
Often though there’s just a vague sense of things just not being right and this persisting over years.
That’s how it was with me. I never had a burning desire or a clear image of where I wanted to go but I knew I wanted to change and I knew where “forward” was and started to go “forward”.
Whether or not the LOA is real or unreal if you want something you have to take action to get it.
All The Best
Alex
i don’t know if the law of attraction is nonsense. if we think and pray about the plate being full of food you may be surprised by someone dropping off food for you. i have had it happen when i have been sick and didn’t want to make food for myself.
however i do think that you have to work towards your goal. just thinking about the plate of food or the ferrari in the driveway won’t work very often. but i think keeping our thoughts on what we would like to have or accomplish keeps one more focused and continuing towards your goal.
i am a big fan of positive thinking.
thanks steve

The “Law Of Attraction” is nonsense. We don’t attract things into our lives.
Thoughts are things and what we think about expands.
We create our reality by the thoughts we think and the determination we have to put these thoughts into action.
Sit at your dinner table with an empty plate in front of you. Doesn’t matter how much you believe, or how hard you think about that juicy steak you want. You’ll starve to death long before a steak appears on your plate.
You might as well just pray for it. Same difference.
